I think I may have been exposed to HIV

Get emergency HIV treatment (PEP)

If you think you may have been exposed to HIV, you can get urgent treatment to reduce the risk of infection.

PEP is medicine that can help prevent HIV after possible exposure.

It must be started as soon as possible, ideally within 24hours and no later than 72 hours.

You can attend a sexual health clinic or speak to a clinician to get treatment.

If services are closed, attend A&E.
